Pete is building his list of peeps using or wanting to use Pinterest. Look out for a product launch sometime. His stuff is always excellent.

    Just finished watching the video:

What's the photo sharing site he mentioned?

You were talking about instagram and he thought you said something else.

Can you explain a little better how hashtags work?

And what's the difference between hashtags and @somebody?

I can't wait till you finish your product on this.

    Hey guys,

The problem with image sharing sites such as this is that they give absolutely no credit to the creators and you lose all SEO benefits.

It really hurts when you spend hours creating graphics such as this and they receive all the credit.

To combat this I released an image hosting service last August geared towards giving correct credit and a "Do Follow" link to the original site called eho.st .

    http://eho.st/pjtxjow3+

As you can see, there's a link to the original source as well as credits the original author.

It also has an option to send 100% of the traffic to your site such as this:

    http://1.eho.st/pjh36p9p

As you can see it redirects to the original site, however, eho.st is constantly pinging their servers to make sure the site remains up. If the servers were to overload and crash (as is the case with most virals), it automatically redirects to eho.st and will stay there until the site is stable again.

After 10,000 views it also scrapes image databases to ensure that the original "source" is correct and the correct site is getting the credit.

It's completely free and combats what I like to call "image piracy". Just drag the bookmarklet at the bottom of eho.st into your bookmarks and give it a try. You can read more about it here: http://lifehacker.com/5836570/ehost-...ors-due-credit

Anyways, just wanted to explain my position on that and say thanks to Peter for the interview! I hope you all enjoyed it.

Hi Colby (or Cobly as Pete called you )

I love reading stuff by real life experts and not some self proclaimed guru, so well done on sharing with us.
Now all I need are original images to use your image hosting service.

Haha, thanks. It started off big with a "node purchasing" option, however, it was discontinued because some "naughty" sites decided to take it up, which doesn't agree with the vision or Adwords terms of service. It was a good learning experience, however. So now it's just free of use. Great source for backlinks.

I'm enjoying this forum though, I'm definitely going to be frequenting it more daily if not hourly.

Yep, some good stuff posted on this forum, although it's gone a bit quiet recently. Hourly visits might be overkill though
